Cavendish and Harvey is known for its delicious hard candies in a classic gold tin. The gold tin is indicative of the quality of the confections inside the tin. The flavors are not only unique and in classic packaging, but are also sealed with icing sugar, which further separates Cavendish and Harvey from its competitors. Each year, Cavendish and Harvey produces over 2.2 billion pieces of candy in over 25 million tins. These numbers are not only gigantic, but necessary for such beloved product worldwide. Cavendish and Harvey is an IFS certified company that uses only natural flavors and colors. Furthermore, the candies are both kosher certified and halal certified. In order to ensure a higher quality product, Cavendish and Harvey avoids using genetically modified organisms and raw materials that have been produced with genetically modified microorganisms. The German made candies are available through Euro-American Brands in orange, mixed berry, cherry, lemon, pear & blackberry, and wildberry.
First started in 1932 by Paul Schmedding as a trading company in Northern Germany, Cavendish has grown into an internationally celebrated confectionary label. By 1959, English sweets were added to its repertoire of products. 1977 marked a very important year. The company Cavendish and Harvey Ltd., London is named and tin packaging is first used. The tin package was used to ensure freshness and create a container that could be closed and opened, thus allowing it to be used more than once. In 1991, Cavendish and Harvey started producing their own candies at a factory in Kaltenkirchen, Germany. Kaltenkirchen was opened in 1984, a year after the headquarters moved to Hamburg. Kaltenkirchen is only about forty minutes from Hamburg. Before it was producing the candies, the factory produced the iconic gold tins. In 1988, the name changed from Cavendish and Harvey Ltd., London to Cavendish and Harvey GmbH. In 2002, Cavendish and Harvey joined the Dr. Wolfgang Boetteger group of brands. Cavendish and Harvey gained IFS certification in 2005.
